![]() ![]() Progress: Boo and Gerdie learned about so many new things. They are strong, curious and interested in what goes on around them. Condition upon arrival: Both animals were healthy and active. The researcher sought out Story Book Farm and arranged to have Boo and Gerdie take up residence here when their final results were recorded. Previous home details: Boo & Gerdie came from a laboratory in Ontario where it was important to the researcher that they be retired to live out their lives in safety and security and as comfortably as possible at the end of the research study.Favourite food: Anything, but they will eat their favourite foods first. Judy will fill her cheek pouches with pieces of banana and sweet potato so that Johnny can’t get them and she can enjoy them in peace later.Even if she is in a position to take treats from her caregivers, she will decline if he is in the vicinity. Personality: Judy is intimidated by Johnny.Johnny is though very dominant at meal time so we have to be creative to make sure that Judy gets her fair share of food. However, unlike any other monkeys at the sanctuary, they never leave any food behind. Progress: Over time they have become a little more discriminating with their food no longer eating banana skins.Condition upon arrival: They arrived at the sanctuary without names and both were particularly frantic at mealtimes - a sign that they probably were not fed regularly. They were rescued from a zoo in Quebec that was closed due to abuse and neglect of over 200 animals. ![]()
